My Wikipedia article

ALES204 required students to do a wikipedia article. Students were asked to complete a wikipedia article by adding additional information. Picking a topic was not difficult for me. As an international student from China, I really wanted to share Chinese culture with others. Therefore, I pick the topic "Nanxi River".  Nanxi River was very famous in my home city. The Nanxi River Scenic Area was named a National Tourist Scenic Spot by the State Council in 1988 due to its scenic landscape accompanied by its unique local culture. I visited it for several times. Normally I would like to visit Nanxi River in summer. In summer, driffting in the river was my favorite.I could sit in a bamboo made catamaran which will drift very fast with the river waves. It was a perfect place of a combination of natural views. It was really a good place for visitors to relax theirselves. Here are two pictures when I was in Nanxi. The pictures were taken by my father. Although they were taken 3, or 4 years ago, my memory of Nanxi lasts long.

The water of the Nanxi River is limpid without any pollution.

I was in a temple in Nanxi
For the hard part: writing it. As an international student, I thought I was not good at English writing. The Nanxi River Scenic Area was named a National Tourist Scenic Spot by the State Council in 1988 due to its scenic landscape accompanied by its unique local culture. It is a famous place in my home city. I spent a lot time on doing research. I found some descriptions to the location of Nanxi River. Unfortunately, I could not find much information about food there. I found an article which described the traditional food items a little bit. When I added it in my wiki article and then worked on the reference, it showed that that link was in a blacklist. Therefore, I decided not to add any information about food in Nanxi. The best way to experience the culture and food there is to visit Nanxi River. I add some information about location, climate, and some hot activities in Nanxi River.  Here is the link of my edited articlehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanxi_River_(Zhejiang)    Here is the picture of my wiki article

I checked some student's blog post of wiki article. They picked various topics. One of them which impressed me a lot is the four regents of Kangxi Emperor. I studied Chinese history when I was in high school. I was really interested in the history of Qing Dynasty. I also watched a lot Chinese dramas about Qing. This topic was picked by Xinghui Zhu. I think he did a really good job on this article. Here is the link of Xinghui's blog posthttp://www.feystyle.blogspot.com/I'd like to talk to him and discuss the story of Qing a little bit. I am so surprised to have someone who is also interested in Chinese history. I've never thought to make friends through this assignment.  Cool!

  1. Hey, your have some cool photos here :). I really like them. It is really clever to present your knowledge from your own experience. It's more convinceable and vivid. I love travel too. I wish one day I can get my school done and have enough money to go anywhere I'd dreamed about. It would be such an amazing experience : )
